Compassion in Action – Joining Hands to Build Roads and Bridges for Ngoc Chuc Commune

With the spirit of “compassion from the heart,” Vietnam Import Export Trading Joint Stock Company has been actively contributing to the community through a variety of meaningful initiatives. Among them is the recent project supporting the construction of bridges and roads in Ngoc Chuc Commune.
As a company operating in the field of trade, we not only focus on business growth but also embrace a mission of community development and human-centered values. We consistently strive to contribute to social welfare programs, especially in areas still facing significant hardship.
Partnering with Tue Tam VH Group – Improving Rural Transportation Together
During a visit to Ngoc Chuc Commune, Giong Rieng District, Kien Giang Province, Ms. Anna Thuoc – a member of the Advisory Council of the Center for Education and Communication Development – had the opportunity to witness firsthand the challenges local people face due to the degraded transportation infrastructure.
With a sincere desire to improve travel conditions and enhance residents’ quality of life, Ms. Anna Thuoc, in collaboration with the Tue Tam VH Group, conducted a field survey of two key bridges – Thanh Danh Bridge and Thanh Cong Bridge – along with a 650-meter road connecting them.
After the survey, Tue Tam VH Group compiled and submitted a detailed project report to our company’s leadership. Recognizing the deeply humanitarian value of the initiative, we acted swiftly, committing to partner with local authorities and the charity group to make this project a reality.
Creating Impact – Building a Brighter Future for the Community
More than 320 households live in the area surrounding the two bridges and the connecting road. The deteriorating infrastructure not only hampers daily mobility but also limits economic growth, educational access, and the overall quality of life.
For the local children, every school day has been a difficult journey — crossing weak, unsafe bridges and navigating muddy roads filled with hidden dangers.
By sponsoring the construction of Thanh Danh Bridge, Thanh Cong Bridge, and the 650-meter connecting road, we’ve helped improve accessibility for the entire community. This critical infrastructure creates a stronger foundation for education, enhances quality of life, and opens up new opportunities for the region.
This is more than just a transportation project — it is a bridge of dreams, supporting the future of young generations and contributing to the transformation of the local area.
The total cost for Thanh Cong Bridge and the connecting road (“Ha Noi Road”) was VND 443 million, of which VND 95 million was contributed by local residents in the form of cash and volunteer labor. The remaining VND 355 million was fully funded by Vietnam Import Export Trading Joint Stock Company, covering the cost of bridge and road construction, solar-powered lighting, and gifts distributed at the inauguration ceremony.
In addition, we contributed to providing 200 essential gift packages to local families during the groundbreaking ceremony for Thanh Cong Bridge and Ha Noi Road, together with other sponsors.
